William NEVER sleeps...

Noooooo, he's really a very good sleeper. Sometimes he's a little eager to go to sleep. I think this means there's going to be an early bedtime...

September Weekends...

So I barely posted any pictures throughout September, so here is a quick update. We actually did a few fun things. The first was mid-September when we went to the Lava Cast Forest. We drove 9 miles on an unpaved road to get there, and let me tell you, it felt like 100. With morning sickness and a rattley 13-year-old car it didn't feel that good, however the resulting landscape was quite worth it.

Trying to get these 2 to look at the camera is close to impossible. Trying to get them in the same picture facing the camera is closer to impossible. Getting them in the same picture, facing the camera and looking happy is just plain impossible.

I was holding them down!

Pippa hugging William as he tries to get up. This happens a lot.

On September 27th, a local Alapaca farm was having an open day, so we went along to check them out. William wanted to ride one I think and was trying to climb into the enclosures. Pippa was just happy to be running around.

Halloweeeeeeen!

On Friday it was Halloween, in case you forgot. We decided to take Pippa 'trick or treating' around the neighborhood, just to a few houses. What we didn't realize was how much she would love collecting candy from scary looking houses in the dark, so she ended up knocking at closer to 30 houses around our neighborhood. She REALLY loved it! She ran up every driveway, knocked on the doors herself and said "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" to every single person. Now she has a pumpkin bucket full of candy to get through. Of course, she is getting a little help...

Pippa was dressed as a little fairy and William was wearing his Thomas the Tank Engine outfit until he went to bed at 6.30! He was too tired to go out with Pippa, but she is a good sharer. I'm kind of excited about next year now. (Just FYI, it was also my first time going Trick or Treating, although I didn't have to dress up or look cute and I didn't get any of my own candy, but it was still so much fun watching Pippa's eyes pop!)

William was sooooo tired!

Pippa didn't realize what was in store for her. She knew something fun was going on but little did she know. Christmas is going to blow her mind!

Peeing on a Stick!

On August 16th I decided to pee on a stick. I passed the test with flying colors, the result being a baby sibling for Pippa and William. Yay! Anyway, we are now in our 14th week and everything seems to be well.

I know I haven't written for ages and for those who read this regularly, I'm sorry! We've been busy, I've been really tired and a bit sick and I have had problems with my computer. Luckily, (if you read a couple of months back) I had just bought an external hard drive and immediately copied all my photos onto it and our older, big clunky external hard drive. Phewy. Turns out the internal hard drive broke and needed replacing. Lesson we didn't learn the hard way!

So, if anybody has any advice on how to deal with 3 children within 3 years of age of each other, please let me know.

With everything else that's been going on, I'll catch you up later. I have so many pictures...

Todd "Frog" Lake

Over this last weekend, we went to Todd Lake with Auntie Jess, which is one of the many Cascade lakes nestled in the mountains around here. It took us 20 minutes or so to drive there and on the way up we got Pippa and William all excited that we were going for a hike. If you've ever hiked with a 2 year old you would know that it's more like a slow amble with a lot of back-tracking. Especially when there are rocks and water involved. I don't know if you recall the blog about our trip to Tumalo Falls, but during that trip Pippa discovered the joy of throwing rocks into and body of water. Since then, whenever we see a stream or a river or a lake or a pond she will hunt for rocks and throw them in the water. So this is what she did at Todd Lake. We didn't get very far because Pippa just wanted to walk in the water and throw rocks in the water. When we got halfway round, we stopped for a while to play and discovered all these little frogs. We got to show Pippa the frogs and she got to hold a couple. It was pretty neat! William just hung out in the carrier.

We all had a fun time and enjoyed the late Summer weather, the scenery and the "hike".

The largest frog we saw. It was about the size of a quarter.

Another catch up session...

So, I got my hard drive finally, so now I can store 250GB of pictures of my children. Yay!

William's birthday was a few weeks ago. There wasn't a lot to take pictures of, but here is one of Pippa blowing out his candles on his very plain looking chocolate chip birthday cake. They ate cake for breakfast.

We have also been trying to visit some of the local sites. A 10 minute south drive takes us to the most spectacular volcanic scenery, so on Labor Day we decided to go up to Lava Butte. Pippa LOVED walking around the paths and seeing all the lava rocks. She has a love of rocks and hiking right now, so she was in her element. Lava Butte is a cinder cone in the middle of a field of black lava. Pretty cool to see. Next, I think we'll go a little further into the park and go see the lava cast forest and Newberry Crater.

We spend a lot of time at home playing during the week, so here is Pippa monkeying around with her plate...

And, Pippa loves to walk in my shoes even though they are a little big!

We also play with Duplo Lego blocks a lot. It is so much fun and we build all sorts of zoos. We do this EVERY DAY. :)

Look for my next blog about our hike around Todd Lake. It is another beautiful place in Central Oregon...and we held frogs!

I need...

I ordered a new external hard drive from Amazon over a week ago and it still hasn't arrived. I NEED it. I have no space left on my computer for new photos or movies of Pippa and William, so until I get it don't expect too much.

So, among the gazillion new things Pippa says everyday, one of her favorites is the phrase "I need..." This is usually followed by one or all of the following: Marshmellow, Cookie, Dolly, Hammer... I just need my hard drive. Oh, and a new car.

I have a cool video ON MY CAMERA of William practically running. He is getting really steady on his feet and will probably be ditching his stroller in no time. I, however, have no intention of ditching his stroller anytime soon. I sometimes need to get things done.

Right before William turned 1, Aunt Rebecca and Mort visited. They had lots of fun playing with Pippa and Will who thoroughly enjoyed having someone new to spin them and cuddle them.
